Package Engineering

Package Engineering bridges the gap between the conceptual prototypes and the technical requirements to achieve a functional package. PTI has both, a broad experience base with a number of package and product categories and the most advanced predictive capabilities available to the industry. This history and capability provides an excellent base for developing even the most challenging packaging applications.

The preform design is a critical component to a package's success. PTI's preform designs are used throughout the world by our customers to produce packages for still beverages and oval applications, aseptic and hot-filled foods and beverages, and carbonated and pasteurized beverages.

PTI uses our Virtual Prototyping software, a reheat stretch blow molding simulation, to generate preform designs. This software also predicts material distribution and material properties, which can be incorporated into additional predictive models like FEA or MRULE in order to fully engineer packages to meet our customers' needs.

FEA Top Load

On the left, our Virtual Prototyping software working in combination with FEA was able to accurately identify the failure mechanism during a virtual top load test. On the right, the actual top load test of bottle is pictured.
