Dimensional Analysis: Container Exterior

Purpose

This procedure is designed to measure the dimensions of a bottle to insure the containers meet the requirements and tolerances specified on the bottle drawings.

Description

The following exterior dimensions of the bottles are measured using a Laser Measurement System,digital calipers, height gauge, Pi-tape and/or optical comparator:

• height
• neck diameter
• shoulder diameter
• label panel (overall) diameter
• pinch (if a contour bottle)
• heel
